Story

In June this year our amazing daughter finally lost her three year battle with cancer. While receiving treatment she was cared for by Ward 84 in Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Ward 84 deals specifically with Children’s Oncology, and as a family spent a lot of time there. It’s fair to say that although they do an amazing job in providing healthcare, they are massively underfunded in other areas. A group of us are walking from Manchester to Mount Snowdon and back (180 miles in 7 days

Fundraising so far

8th September 2017
Please bear in mind we have a total of about £2,700 carried over from the Just Giving fund. We are giving this straight to the hospital after the walk because we don't want to pay further admin fees. Anything we raise on this page is simply added to the previous total!

Leg 4 - 14th Oct - CAPEL CURIG TO SNOWDON - 17 miles (round trip)

21st August 2017
The big day arrives where we finally walk up the Pyg Track, climb the peak and take in the glory of Snowdonia (unless it's foggy and we'll see bugger all). After some (no doubt) emotional hugging and pictures, it's about face and back down the trail on our way back home

Leg 3 - 13th Oct - 25 miles

21st August 2017
After a grueling previous day, this leg will sort the men out from the boys. With tired legs the trek continues, but with the team taking a much more mountainous route... The landscape will more than compensate for pushing through the pain barrier today!

Leg 2 - 12th Oct - 33 miles

21st August 2017
After a 'warm up' stroll the day before, we're up early for the longest walk of the challenge over increasingly rolling landscape. This is where the challenge starts in earnest!!

Leg 1 - 11th Oct - 25 miles

21st August 2017
Up at the crack of dawn with gleeful anticipation and more than a few nerves, the intrepid team will have a quick breakfast then head out into the great unknown... From the suburban streets of Worsley we'll move gradually into more rural landscape before thankfully arriving at our first B&B in early evening (hopefully).
