Frank - the Hero!

Pen bought Gracie some roller skates as a treat for being so good and brave through the first few days of her treatment. We spend the next few weeks holding her up between us racing down the main corridor which took us from the clinic to the radio suite. Everyone got to know Gracie through these roller skates, you could hear her coming from the other side of the hospital, me and Pen thought it was hilarious. Then disaster struck........ a few days before the end of her treatment, one of the roller skates fell apart. Gracie was really upset, and wouldn't calm down. This is where we met Frank. He was one of the engineers who fixed the radio machines in the hospital, clearly a very important busy role. Pen decided that this was an emergency so paged Frank, who promptly came to the radio suite and collected the roller skate and took it back to the workshop whilst we went for treatment. Once we were finished, Pen led us through a maze of back rooms until we found Frank, who had spent the last few hours practically re building the roller skate. Gracie was made up. Again, she had managed to make a new friend in the most unlikely place. We are ever grateful to Frank for saving the day! XOX
