Ringing end of treatment bell - for the 3rd time!!

From John on 22nd August 2017 Ringing end of treatment bell - for the 3rd time!!

@ RMCH Ward 84 Daycase. The end of the third round of Chemo, this time it was higher dose, 6 cycles, with longer in hospital for each cycle. Guy said she'd struggle with this one, with much less time at home. Her immune system was going to be pretty much trashed, and she was definately going to be in with infections in between each cycle. What happened? Gracie smashed it! To be fair, we found this round probably the easiest one in terms of sickness control and her overall energy levels. (It sounds strange describing chemo as easy, but in comparison to what we had been through previously and to what we have seen other kids go through over the years, it felt that way) She was going to school for the odd day here and there, something we never though possible. We have our own thoughts as to why she did so well through this treatment. All we will say is sometimes you have to do what you believe in, especially when it's your child suffering and you have to believe you did everything you possibly could to try to help them and make them better.
